In September 1998, Jack and Meg White wed in Detroit following years of dating with Jack Gillis taking Meg’s surname to become Jack White. Shortly after tying the knot, the couple started the rock act the White Stripes, initially presenting themselves as a brother-sister duo as opposed to a married couple.
